Mobile Revolution

The mobile phone is changing the world:

Nowhere faster than for those without access to traditional financial, social or health services. In 2000 the developing countries accounted for around one-quarter of the world’s 700m or so mobile phones. By the beginning of 2009 their share had grown to three-quarters of a total which by then had risen to over 3.6 billion users.

Growth of mobile subscribers in these communities continues at an extraordinary pace, and for good reason. It brings instant communication, increased earnings and, for many, a place in the formal economy for the first time. Voice, text or apps; for individuals and companies, the mobile phone defines new levels for scale, speed, service and personal security.

Who are Iceni?
